Singer/Songwriter Pete McClean is part of a family legacy that began with his Grandfather Larry Murphy, a prominent NY musician and radio host in the 20's and 30's and continues with his Mom, Marilyn, a featured soloist at Radio City Music Hall and professional vocalist.
While growing up in the Long Island Suburb of New Hyde Park, New York, music had a strong presence in the McClean household; however, it wasn't until college that he was truly inspired. Since discovering his passion for music, Pete has been writing, performing and recording his own material. Drawing inspiration from the cast of characters that drift in and out of his life, his songs often reflect themes that are both thought provoking and easy to identify with.
Throughout his music, there is evidence of the Classical, Jazz and Broadway influences that his Mother impressed upon him. Additionally, his music has been heavily influenced by such icons as Billy Joel, Elton John, Harry Chapin, James Taylor, Van Morrison, Cat Stevens and Bruce Springsteen.
Pete is currently in performing live at select venues on Long Island and recording material for his second Cd. Pete's debut Cd "Secrets of Myself" is available at CD Baby.
